PhotoScape via Wine: unable to save changes in Ubuntu 10.04

Post by daquirm »

Hello,

Please help me with following problem:
After installing Ubuntu 10.04, I'm unable to save any changes when editing images in PhotoScape. It's running with read only permission. In Ubuntu 9.10 everything worked. I tried to run wine as root but it didn't help.
I have following configuration:

Ubuntu 10.04 64bit
Wine 1.1.42 (tried Windows XP and Windows 7 compatibility mode)
trying to run PhotoScape v3.40

This is the output from terminal:

Code: Select all

env WINEPREFIX="/home/daquirm/.wine" wine "C:\Program Files\PhotoScape\PhotoScape.exe"

I don't have the problem, that I broke the permissions on .wine folder. PhotoScape didn't work as expected when it ran by my user account anyway. The problem occurred from the beginning, so I decided to run it as root, which didn't help.

Any other idea?

I tried to downgrade Wine to version 1.1.31 which I'm using in Ubuntu 9.10 and it works for 10.04 too. So it looks like a Wine bug. Anyway the problem is soled for me...
