But you can at least root such a device and/or install Linux on it to run Wine.Thunderbird wrote:No, it is not possible. The OS uses the Linux kernel but apart from that it uses very different libraries, it doesn't use X and so on.

it was done using busybox and others to turn Android into ubuntu-like, then using Qemu and binfmt:

That link is refering to an Armel version of Wine...
but some of the newer Android smartphones ( ie, ASUS Padfone Mini w/ 7" tablet dock ) are running Intel Atom processors & since they're in the same family, wouldn't it be easier to target this market first?
