How to install or update wine to 1.5.10?

I want to install or update my current version of wine to 1.5.10, my current version now is 1.4.1. I tried downloading it, but it comes as a .bz2. I'm not sure how to install it from the .bz2. I also tried updating from the apt-update, but it is an unknown command. Im trying to update because DC universe online crashes whenever I hit "Play".

uninstall with software manager

unzip newest wine
cd tools
./wineinstall

later for the next update
do in wine's root folder:
make uninstall

make sure to have all dependencies installed. there's a webpage only for that
