hi, I'm totally new here, and I'm totally lost. Here's my case: I'm a mac user, nostalgic to some very old mmo (ultima online for those who know), and I want to make it work on my computer, even if it's a windows game.
Anyway, I managed to play via playonmac, but, for the people who know the game, for a better experience, I need to use another program, that makes using keys way more effective. I can't use this program, and after some researchs, I found out that I need to have dotnet 20 and fontfix checked in my winetricks window. Keep in mind that I'm totally new to that, and basically I don't even know what are those things. I saw this site, that has tons of infos, but tbh I don't even know where to start looking, and I just want a single program to run :/
If anyone very patient could help me, I would be so happy!
Here are some infos that could maybe help: I got playonmac 4.1.3, comes with xQuartz X11, downloaded too Wine and winebottler, and my winetricks window is empty :/
thx in advance!

hi, decided to try few things, and for a start to download a brand new wine, from one of links I got on this site. here's what I found in read me to complete the installation:
2. QUICK START

Whenever you compile from source, it is recommended to use the Wine
Installer to build and install Wine. From the top-level directory
of the Wine source (which contains this file), run:

./tools/wineinstall

here is what I get from running the wineinstall:

~ gamil$ /Applications/wineinstall ; exit;
Wine Installer v1.0

You're running this from the wrong directory.
Change to the Wine source's main directory and try again.
logout

[Opération terminée]

I tried to move the file, but I always get the same answer. Can anyone tell me what I do wrong plz?

Our Mac users usually recommend Macports for building Wine on a Mac.

Hi,

it's ok if you want to try plain wine, but playonmac should be able to install .Net 2.0. Don't know about the fontfix, you'd probably have to ask the guys at playonmac.
