How to update Wine?

Well i tried to uninstall wine by going to the software center and removing it but when i reinstall its still the same version i had before. Any body know how to do this kinda new to most of this linux stuff.

Are you sure your distro provides newer packages than what you had?

Ask your distro for help with any package/package manager issues.

When i go to the Ubuntu packages and scroll down it says:
To get the most recent Wine 1.5 beta, click this link to install the wine1.5 package.

And when i do it opens the ubuntu software center and shows me the Wine version that i have so i remove and re click the link but get the same one.

What version of Ubuntu do you have? It looks like 1.5 packages are only being built for 12.04. https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-wine/+archive/ppa

You will have to build Wine yourself to get the latest development release.
