Does anyone have a way to workaround to a winzip Self-extractable that bombs in wine?

never had one bomb in wine.... they seem to work fine.
what specifically happens when you try? |

| These are the .exe type of self extractable. the winzip generated ones. including winzip install all bomb out and I get a wine error. |

It is usually just a zip file with an extractor and configuraion added
at the start of the file...
try unzip file.exe from the *nix shell... |
