ArmA 2 DEMO right now - but be prepared it won't work...

Well... the bad news is – it is not playable, the good news is... it
actually RUNS (ArmA 1 doesn't even show any menu), with extreme amount of
graphical anomalies... but hey, it runs :). I think anomalies are due to use
of native d3dx9_36.dll which is at the moment not available in wine. Also I
couldn't hear any sounds (this also may have something to do with native
X3DAudio1_6.dll
I used). Anyway I didn't get error you did, however this may be due to fact
that I have tried demo... Also note – I have Nvidia, With Ati or Intel you
may not be able to run this thing at all (buggy drivers).

Well , ArmA 2 doesn´t work properly even on Ms O.S... I remeber thousands of issues and crashes that I get and i had to solve to enjoy this incredible game.......so maybe the problem is the game.

Ok i just install the game the instalation process was ok , I was very glad untill that

but I´m not worried at all cause is more than what I expected! Now i I´ll try to install all the updates to see what happens.

Uhmmm. Don't like to lower your hopes... But BF2 was released in 2005 and is still not well supported. You have to be very patient with Wine progress as most of the Windows software developers don't give a monkeys about it... (E.g. the stupid PunkBuster system that Battlefield games use.)
It's up to the end user to contribute to Wine... so keep filing them bugs 8)

Game loads for me and with the rawdevices patch you can use mouse as well.

So yeah it works, how well? Not great, and this games wants a lot of machine behind it to play well

Do you have a link to where new versions or the raw input patch can be found? I can only find old versions for wine 1.3.* and I would like to patch a more recent version of wine 1.5.*.

I recently downloaded ARMA2 Free and successfully installed it on my Mac Pro 8 core using wineskin. My OS is the latest version of Mountain lion. I am noticing some issues with sound and mouse tracking. Things are a bit "Herky Jerky." But it does run! Once I figure out how to document bugs and where to look for adjustments I'll report more. Honestly, what I'm seeing seems to be a RAM or video card memory issue, will try to get a better idea over the next week or so.
