Sharper Image software intended for Windows

It has a usb wireless receiver and software that gets info from internet and displays on device. It says it's for Windows, but I am trying to use it in Wine. When I put in the cd and run the .exe in wine it says

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: D\Install_2380.exe
This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I can get this software to work on my machine? If it wont work I can return it.

Anything usb-related is unlikely to work in Wine unless it can use the serial port usb driver.
And the Amazon page you link to seems to say people have trouble with the software even on Windows.
So chances are slim.

http://www.weatherconnection.com/manuals/EC-WS115.pdf says the app requires .net 2.0;
does 'winetricks dotnet20' help?
If not, can you attach a console log?

I dont know what 'winetricks dotnet20' is but I'll do some googling...
