Yeah... I've never heard of any of those problems with GW2. Care to describe them or fix one of the things that's on the actual bug list for the app? (Right now type-crash is the main problem... If you can't type you can't make a char and if you can't make a char you can't play)

No good news I'm afraid. Very little performance difference if any this stress test - and the typing crashing still happens... If it's like this at release it's bronze at best since you'd need a VM or a reboot just to make the characters.

Yep, the talking bit is a main bug, because I have no idea what causes it, thus no idea how to solve it. Mouse is also quite annoying.
Oh, and framerates are meh, as expected. Even my laptop under Windows beats a 4770, which I think is quite bad.

It seems, that running gw2 with -dx9single commandline switch works currently as a workaround. With dx9single both character creation and chat works correctly without freezing.

Well that's a massive help! I'd rather be able to chat than whatever it is that does. I'm going to assume it affects performance in some way (Probably sets the dx9 rendering to a single thread... Which may in fact make it faster on linux in the first place)
Codezi - you da freaking man!

Also, I hear they are using awesomeium browser for the trading post. I played anarchy online back when wine was working around it's awesomium issues, perhaps the bug (Which has been fixed in that game) can help solve it in GW2?

Problem!
The NtQuerySystemInformation function I was hoping would be gone by release as it crashes GW2 every time it runs? Yeah, it's running every time you try to start the game now...
Any fix available?

A codeweavers (crossover) staff member noted that the NtQuerySystemInformation fixme happens after the crash and is part of generating the log file. This means all the crashing regular and otherwise that I've been experiencing has no common cause... Oh no... Anyway, here's the wine logs that were sent around when the crash happens, pasted from just before the crash to when the dialogue popped up. There is a new stresstest today for those that want to test things in Wine. However, the -useoldlauncher workaround for the black login screen does not work anymore after todays (or yesterdays?) patch. The -dx9single does not work either. So right now, it is near impossible to log into the game using Wine :S If you want to test things in todays stress-test. The black login screen needs to be adressed first and foremost! The problem is though, that there will most likely be even more patches before launch, AND after launch. But that doesn't really mean that we can't start fixing things up now

If the launcher updates itself, it will silently remove any parameters given to the newly downloaded and launched executable, thus resulting switches to not work. So, after the updated launcher has either died while downloading enough files or is otherwise killed, the "next start" with dx9single should work (probably; at least it did for me). The old launcher doesn't work, however, but dx9single displayed even the new launcher window correctly. Mouse is broken like usual (without rawpatch). This with wine-1.5.11.

Just piping by to say that GW2 does work this stress test despite no old launcher. Of course it is not perfect, but I have not experienced any crashes yet. I'm just happy that the mouse works (with the rawpatch).. (Now if only the Auction House could work.)

Changes since last stress test: - -dx9single does fix typing and launcher but ever so slightly reduces performance
- -useoldlauncher no longer viable
- texture corruption when changing certain clothes (Switching to town clothes or previewing armor for instance) - this is similar to a bug in GW1 in that if you zoom in close enough you can see the "proper" textures (But you can't zoom in preview)
- New graphics options. They don't do anything yet. (Or they do and don't work in wine)
- trading still doesn't work but it didn't work for most people so it's not something I could test
- mouse turning locks at the side very often as if the game doesn't have focus - it loses focus again quickly afterwards
As for my performance being 15 - 40 fps on a high-end machine at maxed settings, allow me to quote the support forums: Quote: E6850@3.5Ghz GTX 470 4GB RAM Windows 7 64 bit. Tried many driver versions, but performance was the same.
Constantly getting 36% GPU Load, 17 FPS There's an entire thread of these. I say let anet fix performance for us

Performance is better and MUCH more consistent now, I get smooth gameplay even at the start of the human area on one of the densest servers (so about 50 people within greatsword swing distance ;P) Getting 25fps divinity max settings, last one it was sub 20 Edit: Further testing shows the mouse movement locking while turning the camera happens every other time. Quite literally, it's odd/even weather it will work or not. now there's an interesting bug

Hey guys,
I am receiving this error. Not sure where to find or update "ntlm_auth".
err:winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution. fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x1d66000 0 0x32fdd8 4 fixme:process:SetProcessDEPPolicy (1): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x32f2d4,0x32f900): stub
It also says that Guild Wars 2 is already running when I try to run the Gw2Setup.exe
How do I stop it from running? Thanks!

Sorry to repost, but I managed to try to reinstall Guild Wars 2.
The X11 screen goes black, and terminal tells me the following:
winediag:SECUR32_initNTLMSP ntlm_auth was not found or is outdated. Make sure that ntlm_auth >= 3.0.25 is in your path. Usually, you can find it in the winbind package of your distribution.

I don't know every avenue to install Samba, I always installed it via Macports.

The counter which even/odd makes the mouse lock resets when you use the map... more interesting by the minute...

Issue: When launching Gw2Game.exe (via 'wine "C:\\Program Files\\Gw2Game.exe"' and via double clicking on the executable) the download client will load with zero problems and begin a download. After ~8Mb the client will flash, then disappear completely leaving me with just a black screen. I am fairly new to wine, so I'm exhausting everything I know or can find about what the issue might be. Attached is a screen shot of the black screen as well as the terminal output from right when it happens. Screenshot Terminal Output Turnicated, but the following few lines continue the entire download Code: fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1dab10,0x3377de54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1dab10,0x3377de54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1dab10,0x3377de54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x33ed7270,0x3377de54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x33eda810,0x3377de54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x33edafc0,0x3377de54: stub fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x1c9e000 0 0x33fd98 4 fixme:process:SetProcessDEPPolicy (1): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x33f294,0x33f8c0): stub fixme:gameux:GameExplorerImpl_VerifyAccess (0x190c68, L"C:\\users\\mustafar\\Temp\\Gw2.tmp", 0x33f628) fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x1c9e000 0 0x33fd98 4 fixme:process:SetProcessDEPPolicy (1): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x33f294,0x33f8c0): stub fixme:gameux:GameExplorerImpl_VerifyAccess (0x190c68, L"C:\\users\\mustafar\\Temp\\Gw2.exe", 0x33f628) fixme:thread:SetThreadStackGuarantee (0x34cae9d0): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation ((nil),0x354add0c): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x354add34,0x354add0c): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation ((nil),0x354add14): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x354add3c,0x354add14): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation ((nil),0x354add08): stub fixme:process:GetLogicalProcessorInformation (0x354add30,0x354add08): stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1962d8,0x354ae500: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1969a8,0x354ade54: stub fixme:winsock:WS_getsockopt WS_SO_CONNECT_TIME - faking results fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1969a8,0x354ade54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x196120,0x354ade54: stub fixme:wincodecs:PngDecoder_Block_GetCount 0x1969c0,0x354ade54: stub fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x354a54b8,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x354a4328,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x354a4268,0x00000000), stub! fixme:ddraw:ddraw7_Initialize Ignoring guid {aeb2cdd4-6e41-43ea-941c-8361cc760781}. fixme:devenum:DEVENUM_ICreateDevEnum_CreateClassEnumerator Category {33d9a760-90c8-11d0-bd43-00a0c911ce86} not found fixme:devenum:DEVENUM_ICreateDevEnum_CreateClassEnumerator Category {33d9a761-90c8-11d0-bd43-00a0c911ce86} not found fixme:winediag:AUDDRV_GetAudioEndpoint Winepulse is not officially supported by the wine project fixme:winediag:AUDDRV_GetAudioEndpoint For sound related feedback and support, please visit http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1960599 fixme:devenum:DEVENUM_ICreateDevEnum_CreateClassEnumerator Category {cc7bfb41-f175-11d1-a392-00e0291f3959} not found fixme:devenum:DEVENUM_ICreateDevEnum_CreateClassEnumerator Category {cc7bfb46-f175-11d1-a392-00e0291f3959} not found fixme:d3d:debug_d3dformat Unrecognized 0x434f5441 (as fourcc: ATOC) WINED3DFORMAT! fixme:d3d:wined3d_get_format Can't find format unrecognized (0x434f5441) in the format lookup table fixme:msctf:ThreadMgrSource_AdviseSink (0x1ab478) Unhandled Sink: {ea1ea136-19df-11d7-a6d2-00065b84435c} fixme:imm:ImmDisableTextFrameService Stub fixme:wtsapi:WTSRegisterSessionNotification Stub 0x50022 0x00000000 fixme:win:RegisterRawInputDevices (pRawInputDevices=0x354a572c, uiNumDevices=1, cbSize=12) stub! fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. fixme:d3d:resource_check_usage Unhandled usage flags 0x8. fixme:avrt:AvSetMmThreadCharacteristicsW (L"Audio",0x3870e9b8): stub fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x354a5008,0x00000000), stub! fixme:win:EnumDisplayDevicesW ((null),0,0x354a5360,0x00000000), stub! #//EoF Computer Specs: Ubuntu 12.04 Wine 1.5.11 w/ winetricks 16Gb RAM AMD 3.6GHz 8-core Processor GeForce GTX 670 2Gb

I'm now getting an odd audio distortion in queensdale - it sounds high frequency and goes lower very loudly like a jet engine revving down until it is a mid-tone rumble. No idea what causes it, it has no obvious source (Midair for example)
Edit: May be caused by mixing buffer size settings

I was able to fix my issue by launching via Terminal with Code: wine "C:\\Users\\<user>\\temp\\Gw2.exe -dx9single Waiting for download to complete now.

With a radion HD 4830 and the default ubuntu propretary drivers, my CPU is doing all the heavy lifting. My card is notoriously bad when it comes to games under linux.
I am having terrible framerates / constant graphic lag but the game is (somewhat) playable.

Even with a fresh 7950 my CPU is the limiting factor, I have 10-20 FPS in LA if I'm lucky, and on entering the place I have a LOT of lag for about a minute or so. That's with Catalyst 12.08, and an updated (beta) wine. A nasty other thing is that my X sometimes grabs 3 GB of memory while running GW2, which slows down my computer to a crawl, swap is slow GW itself eats anywhere between 1 and 2 GB of memory, no problems there, but something weird makes my X go wild. The last message before I abort GW is Code: err:d3d_surface:surface_map >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_OUT_OF_MEMORY (0x505) from glMapBufferARB @ surface.c / 935 Another funny one is Code: err:d3d:context_create wglSwapIntervalEXT failed to set swap interval 0 for context 0x3afca620, last error 0x591 fixme:d3d:wined3d_swapchain_set_gamma_ramp Ignoring flags 0x1. This one probably happens when maptravelling.
