I created a deb file of WINE 1.0RC5 and it installs and works great for GutsyGibbon on my machine - I don't know about Feisty tho.
1.)In synaptic or apt-get do remove complete of the ol' wine version or else you might see when u open up the wine config in the about screen the ol' version.
2.)WARNING: after compiling it said something about not supporting scanners, etc... so if you don't have/use a windows based scanner ur alright.
3.)Download and install WINE 1.0RC5 from here: http://www.4shared.com/dir/7204939/4630 ... untu_.html
............
If you have problems installing/running; install Flex (not dev) and bison (not dev) however I believe these were only needed for compiling. Yes they are both in the Repository.
............
Thank you for downloading & installing - if you want you can give feedback as to whether u can run my compiled/debified on feisty, etc... or if you have any other problems.
If your using HardyHeron - u can follow the directions here: http://www.winehq.org/site/download-deb to install the official HardyHeron one for Ubuntu.
.............
As always you can find the latest compiled versions of WINE along with other Gutsy Compiled Debs by me here:http://www.4shared.com/dir/7204939/4630 ... untu_.html
